For 700-R4 & 200-4R Transmission Are you tired of the trial-and-error method of adjusting your TV cable on your 700-R4 and 200-4R transmission? The crew at Bowler Performance Transmission sure was! That's why they developed their own kit to solve this problem. When you purchase one of Bowler's Tru-Shift systems, you will get the easiest and best functioning TV cable adjusting system available. When you install this system, you simply bolt on the supplied bracket and carburetor cam assembly, install the Bowler TV cable, then run the accelerator to wide open throttle. The cable will automatically adjust itself and you're done. With this system, there is no need to remove the carburetor, no cams to adjust, no need to drop the transmission pan, no need to install a pressure gauge to check the pressures, and best of all, no more guessing. Bowler even includes different throttle cable brackets to cover Lokar, Gennie, GM square, and early round hole. Each one attaches neatly to the supplied bracket. We have kits available for Holley, Edelbrock, FiTech TBI, Demon, MSD, Quickfuel, and Aces Carburetors.
Note: If you have a Quickfuel Carburetor, Holley Street Warrior, Brawler or Aces Carburetor, we will need to see pictures of the base and the throttle arm to determine which brackets will best suit your application. Easily installed , adjustment is a simple. Wish I had brought one earlier.
After installing, transmission shifts perfectly and does not bog down anymore.Ratchet mechanic on the cable makes for painless adjustment. Great product. Worth the money.
Purchased this kit for my ‘86 C10 after putting on a Holley Sniper 2. Brackets all fit great and good instructions with a clear video on YouTube. Truck went from not kicking down with weird shift points to shifting perfectly. Only complaint would be the new TV cable is about a foot and a half longer than the original. New cable works and fits good but just looks a bit out of place with the extra length. Parts all feel built really well.
They work hard to make sure everything was perfect. Great people.
While I am currently in the process of installing the Bowler Tru-Shift kit on my 1969 Olds 442 with a 200-4R Transmission, I can comment that the quality of the pieces is excellent and the Customer Care has been far above what I expected. As this is my first time doing an installation such as this, I have relied on Chester Fisher at Bowler Tech Support and he has not let me down. Chester is a pleasure to deal with, answering all my questions and suggesting ways to make my project easier. Could not be happier with the folks at Bowler!
